2022 Hummer EV Interior Features A Map Of The Moon’s Sea Of Tranquility

The all-new Hummer EV supertruck has finally been revealed to the world. Blending impressive off-road capability and advanced EV technology with an aggressive, muscular design and a luxurious cabin, the vehicle is a striking modern recreation of the classic Hummers of yore. But one of the more interesting elements of the battery-electric vehicle could arguably be the Hummer EV interior.
The range-topping trim level, called Hummer EV Edition 1, features a unique interior colorway called Lunar Horizon. But the designation for the interior is more than just a name, since the striking white and black contrast of the interior echoes the visual contrast of the moon’s surface against the blackness of space. But the lunar design references don’t stop there.
HummerNation.com has confirmed that the Hummer EV interior features a topographical map of the Sea of Tranquility etched onto the pickup truck’s speaker grilles. The Sea of Tranquility is the very lunar crater where Neil Armstrong famously became the first man to set foot on the moon. The fact that GM would lean into a defining moment of American history for its most advanced production vehicle seems perfectly fitting.
The 2022 Hummer EV interior features more than just visual Easter eggs. The tech-laden interior features large displays for the instrument cluster (measuring 12.3 inches) and infotainment system (measuring 13.4 inches). These screens can be used to display a new set of informative graphics that are being dubbed “off-road widgets” that include items like roll angle, tire pressure, chassis ride height, torque vectoring, wheel travel and more, all to enhance the off-road prowess of the new Hummer EV.
