2022 Hummer EV Will Use Google Infotainment Services

The 2022 Hummer EV pickup was designed from the ground-up with innovative technology in mind, including features like CrabWalk and off-road-focused UltraVision underbody cameras. This same philosophy also extends to the new Hummer’s infotainment system, which will make use of Google Infotainment Services.
The infotainment system in the 2022 Hummer EV is powered by Android. As a result, the new supertruck will include Google Infotainment Services, bringing enhanced features to the cockpit. Some of these include hands-free calling and texting through Google Voice Assistant, access to Google Navigation with locations of EV charge stations, as well as integration of the Google app ecosystem, which can be accessed through a specially-built, in-vehicle Google Play Store.
We also know that certain features of the new Hummer EV’s infotainment system will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Gaming Engine. This technology will make the aforementioned features easy to find and intuitive to navigate. Specifically, the Unreal Gaming Engine will help with the system’s start-up animation and graphic displays designed to enhance the vehicle’s overall interactivity with the driver. Indeed, the days of slow, lagging and low-resolution graphics in infotainment systems are long gone.
All of these features will be displayed on the Hummer EV’s 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and its 12.3-inch diagonal driver information center display (previously known as the gauge cluster). Alongside the Google Infotainment Services, the infotainment system in the Hummer EV will provide a wealth of off-road widgets displaying real-time vehicle performance information like g-force articulation, a drift gauge, tire pressure, pitch and roll angles, chassis ride height, and a compass, among others.
