Upcoming Hummer EV SUV Revealed In Recent Presentation

During the reveal of the 2022 Hummer EV back in October, only the pickup variant of the electric off-roader was shown. Even so, we also knew that an SUV body style was also on the way, recently imagining what such a model could look like in our own renderings. But now, we have our first official look at the upcoming Hummer EV SUV.

During the Barclays 2020 Global Automotive Conference that took place on November 19th, the Hummer EV SUV was casually parked on stage behind the Doug Parks, Executive Vice President Global Product Development, Purchasing & Supply Chain at Hummer parent firm, General Motors.

Unfortunately, that is all the information we know, since GM did not disclose any further info about the Hummer EV SUV. A cursory glance at the example parked on stage shows that it’s pretty visually similar to the pickup truck, but with the necessary changes to feature a completely enclosed cabin.

Another key difference between the SUV and the pickup model is that the tires on the SUV do not seem to be as meaty as the units on the pickup. If the SUV has identical specs as the pickup, which we suspect it will, that performance could be affected by the skinnier tires.

Speaking of performance, the Hummer EV pickup will be offered with either a dual- or triple-motor powertrain. The range-topping three-motor Edition 1 that will be the first to arrive on the market. It will produce more than 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 in about 3 seconds.

The Hummer EV pickup is set to go on sale next year, with the SUV model expected to arrive at dealerships roughly a year thereafter.
