2022 Hummer EV To Star In 2021 Super Bowl LV Commercial

Before it was fully revealed last month, the 2022 Hummer EV was teased in a 30-second ad that aired earlier this year during Super Bowl LIV. And now, it seems that the Hummer EV will be making a return in an ad scheduled for next year’s Super Bowl LV.

A recent report from Ad Age states that the Hummer parent company, General Motors, is planning another advertisement for the electric supertruck during Super Bowl LV scheduled for February 7th, 2021.

If the reports are true, then GM is spending serious money on advertising the Hummer EV. The average cost of a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl was $5.25 million in 2019. To make matters even more expensive, the first Hummer EV ad also featured NBA superstar LeBron James, though there is no details as to the value of the endorsement deal.

Despite its expense, that ad proved to be at least somewhat successful as reservations for the range-topping Hummer EV pickup Edition 1, which starts at $112,595, sold out mere hours after the official reveal back in October of 2020. Pricing for the entry-level trim level of the Hummer EV pickup starts at $79,995.

As a reminder, the Hummer EV is an upcoming supertruck that is completely electric. The vehicle will be offered in various powertrain configurations, including dual and triple motor setups. The Edition 1 model that will be available at launch will feature the triple motor setup that is rated at 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque.

For a better idea of how the Hummer EV pickup stacks up to the competition, HummerNation.com recently compared it to other range-topping off-road pickups, including the F-150 Raptor and Ram TRX.
