GMC Received 10,000 Reservations For Hummer EV Edition 1 So Far

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV arrived in a livestream debut event on October 20th, 2020, breaking the mold of what an off-roader should be as a powerful new battery-driven conqueror of all terrain. Indeed, the new Hummer is an enticing bit of kit, and now, a new report indicates that GMC has already accumulated some 10,000 preorders for the Hummer EV Edition 1.

As recently reported by Detroit Free Press, GMC now has 10,000 preorders for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1.

Reservations were $100 a piece. General Motors has not officially confirmed the reported Hummer EV preorder figure.

At the top of the new Hummer lineup is the Hummer EV Edition 1, which is equipped with just about every available option offered, including a three-motor powertrain producing a head-snapping 1,000 horsepower. Additionally, the Edition 1 is offered exclusively in white with a black roof, and is equipped with bronze wheels, plus the Lunar Horizon interior treatment. Adaptive air suspension with Extract Mode is also standard.

Pricing for all this goodness rings to the tune of $112,595. Despite the relatively high price point, reservations for the new Edition 1 sold out in just 10 minutes.

Customers can also reserve the Hummer EV3X ($99,995, arriving Fall of 2022), the Hummer EV2X ($89,995, arriving Spring of 2023), and the Hummer EV2 ($79,995, arriving Spring of 2024). Each reservation is $100, regardless of the trim picked.

Production is slated to take place at GM’s Factory Zero facility, formerly known as GM Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly, in Michigan. The first examples of the new Edition 1 are expected to arrive in the Fall of 2021.
