Hummer EV SUV To Be Unveiled February 2021

The new Hummer EV pickup officially dropped cover back in October, but there’s a new body style just over the horizon – the Hummer EV SUV. Like the Hummer EV pickup, the new SUV will offer ground-breaking technology and impressive performance, all with a full-size SUV body added on top. It sounds promising, and luckily, we won’t have to wait long to see it, as word has it the Hummer EV SUV will drop cover in just a few months’ time.

According to a recent report from Detroit Free Press, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is set to officially debut in February of 2021. The report cites a recent virtual national dealer meeting in which GMC leaders shared the expected debut date, as well as the substantial 10,000-unit preorder figure for the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup.

This isn’t the first time February has been tipped as the debut timeframe for the new Hummer SUV. Last month, Hummer Nation reported that Hummer parent company, General Motors, was planning a new advertisement during Super Bowl LV on February 7th, 2021. The new ad spot follows a teaser for the Hummer EV pickup that aired during Super Bowl LIV on February 2nd, 2020.

Considering the successful reveal of the new Hummer EV pickup in October, it would make sense to drop the Hummer EV SUV in the upcoming Super Bowl ad in 2021.

The new GMC Hummer EV SUV will be roughly the same size as the GMC Yukon SUV. The new Hummer SUV design was teased last month during the Barclays 2020 Global Automotive Conference, and looks to be closely related to that of the pickup truck model. Under the skin, the new utility vehicle will boast the same eye-widening specs as the pickup truck, from the powertrain, to the platform, to the interior goodies. Production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, with the first units arriving in dealers in 2022.
