2020 GMC Acadia Meets 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup In The Real World
The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is a big, bold, rough-and-ready battery-powered off-roader. That much we know for sure, but for those Hummer fans who have yet to see the new new EV in person, the true size of this beast may be a bit unclear. Now, a recent photograph showing the Hummer EV alongside another GMC product helps to paint a clearer picture.
As we can see in the title picture, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup was recently spotted next to a 2020 GMC Acadia. For those readers who don’t know, the Acadia is GMC’s midsize five-door crossover utility vehicle (CUV), with seating for up to seven passengers inside the cabin. Placed next to the Acadia, the GMC Hummer EV looks tall and rugged, with big, knobby tires sitting under pumped-up fenders.
The Hummer EV seen above is a non-production prototype model, and appears to be out in the real world undergoing a few tests. We recently spotted a Hummer EV prototype testing previously, including on a flat-bed truck alongside another GM pickup truck, as well as navigating through traffic.
The model featured here is noteworthy for its missing fenders and body trim, as well as placeholder lighting for the front and rear end. The roof also mounts a shark-fin antenna, while new running boards are spotted lower in the body with steel tube protection bits. The sideview mirrors also appear to be much sleeker than the mirrors seen during the reveal.
As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV measures in with a 216.8-inch overall length and 135.6-inch wheelbase, as well as an 86.7-inch overall width without the mirrors.
