LeBron James Gets Up Close And Personal With New GMC Hummer EV: Video

NBA legend LeBron James has been the face of the new 2022 GMC Hummer EV ever since the all-electric pickup started making waves with the “Quiet Revolution” teasers in early 2020. Now, James is getting up close and personal with the battery-driven off-roader in the following brief video.

Titled “Superstar Meets Supertruck,” the video is just a minute long, but shows the Hummer EV sitting pretty in James’ garage and driveway as the pro athlete goes over the exterior and interior.

“You know, GMC should be extremely proud of themselves of the build of this, this beast,” James says as he sits in the driver’s seat.

Beast is definitely the right word to use here. With three electric motors making 1,000 horsepower in the top-trim Edition 1, the Hummer EV can sprint to 60 mph in just 3 seconds – an impressive feat for a large, off-road-ready pickup truck. What’s more, with over 350 miles of range and 350-kW charging good for an extra 100 miles in just 10 minutes, the latest Hummer has what it takes to go the distance, as well.

Of course, the Hummer EV is more than just a collection of specs and numbers – it’s also an eye-catching piece of design.

“The details inside and the exterior is second to none,” James says. “Obviously, you know they spent a lot hours on making sure the quality and detailing of this vehicle is amazing. And for it to be all electric, for it to still have that power and that presence of a Hummer.”

James says he’s ready to take his new Hummer EV for a spin through the streets of Los Angeles, or maybe back home in Ohio. Either way, you can catch his walkaround in the video below:
