Segi TV and Chip Ganassi Racing just pulled the sheets on the livery for the new Ganassi Racing Extreme E all-electric racing SUV. The new competition vehicle takes inspiration from the new GMC Hummer EV with regard to the visuals.

As Hummer Nation covered last month, Chip Ganassi has secured a sponsorship with GMC to outfit the team’s new Extreme E all-electric racing SUV with styling that takes cues from the new Hummer EV. Although the vehicle is essentially a Spark Odyssey 21 under the skin, the bodywork, front fascia, and graphics all bear a resemblance to the latest all-electric off-roader.

For those who may not know, the Spark Odyssey 21 is a purpose-built all-electric off-road racer designed specifically for use in the new Extreme E competition series. The upcoming first season of the Extreme E race series will include five rounds hosted around the world, including in Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Greenland, Brazil, and Argentina.

Chip Ganassi Racing has announced its two drivers for the series as Sara Price and Kyle Leduc. Other competitors in the seres include Sébastien Loeb, Carlos Sainz, Mattias Ekström, Timmy Hansen, and Johan Kristofferson.

Notably, the new Chip Ganassi Extreme E racer will be significantly less powerful than the GMC Hummer EV, with just 550 horsepower, as compared to the 1,000 horsepower produced by the top-trim Hummer. Nevertheless, the new Extreme E racer will still have the right equipment to perform in the new off-road racing series, including a tubular frame made from Niobium reinforced steel alloy, high-spec double wishbone suspension with three-way adjustable dampers, six-pot brakes, and a curb weight of 3,638 pounds.
