Customers interested in upgrading their new Hummer EV will have a selection of optional extras to choose from, including new optional roof cross rails.

For those folks who want to use their Hummer EV as a method of transportation to their favorite outdoor activity, such as kayaking or biking, the Hummer EV’s roof cross rails should provide an optimal solution. In addition, the roof rails can also be used to load up additional cargo or storage for those customers who need even more room than what’s offered in the cabin.

Critically, these optional roof cross rails are designed specifically for the new Hummer EV, and fit both the pickup body style and the SUV body style. What’s more, they are compatible with all configurations of the Hummer EV’s Infinity Roof.

“So whether the Sky Panels are in place or removed for fresh air and sun, you can still carry what the latest adventure calls for,” GMC explains.

At this point, no additional information on the optional feature is available, including the availability timeframe, or pricing. We’ll make sure to follow-up as further information is released.

The automaker also plans on releasing several other optional extras for the Hummer EV pickup and SUV, some of which we will cover in follow-up posts.

As a reminder, the all-new GMC Hummer EV is set to enter production this fall, while the GMC Hummer EV SUV will arrive in early 2023. Pricing for the all-electric vehicles starts at $79,995 for the Hummer EV² trim level (arriving Spring of 2024), offering over 250 miles of range and 625 horsepower. Reservations for the range-topping Hummer EV Edition 1, which offers more than 1,000 horsepower and over 350 miles of range, are currently full.
