Check Out The Hummer EV Driver Interface Animations

Snappy visuals for each drive mode.

The Hummer EV mixes rough-and-tough equipment specs with the latest technology to create a unique, zero-emissions off-roader capable of handling a variety of terrain. To make the most of all that capability, the Hummer EV features multiple driving modes, the selection of which is accompanied by simulated interface animations, as seen below.

Coming to us from the official GMC Instagram feed (@GMC), these animations show what users could see when switching between modes like Off-Road, Trailering, Terrain, and Touring. Per the disclaimer at the bottom of the animations, these may not be the exact animations used with the final production model, but either way, they are certainly encouraging.

The animations show the new Hummer EV Pickup rolling over a variety of terrain, including dusty trails, wobbly hills, and smooth pavement. As the user switches between each driving mode using the rotary controller located in the center console, the Hummer EV bursts through a blue “wall” and onto the next bit of terrain.

The animations are slick, no doubt about it, and should certainly delight Hummer EV owners, assuming they make it onto the production vehicle.

As Hummer Nation covered previously, the Hummer EV will come with the Google Android Automotive OS for the infotainment spec, providing a number of built-in features. The graphics will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Gaming Engine, providing crisp visuals and fast load times, similar to what we see we the animations featured here.

As for the digital bits, the Hummer EV features a 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and 12.3-inch diagonal driver information cluster, as well as a swath of digital tools to help in the dirt, including tire pressure readouts, pitch and roll angles, chassis ride height, vehicle articulation, and more.
