First-Ever Production 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 At Auction: Photos

Check out VIN 001.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is finally here, and it’s bringing some serious electric firepower to challenge all rivals in the off-roader segment. The first production Hummer EV produced, VIN 001, is now at auction at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event in Arizona, giving us a look at the Hummer EV Edition 1 thanks to the following photos.

Like all Edition 1 models, GMC Hummer EV VIN 001 is finished in white paint, which does well to show off the new design and lines. What’s more, it comes with a variety of standard equipment offered as optional elsewhere in the lineup, including Transparent Sky Panels and the Extreme Off Road Package, plus unique touches like exclusive badging.

The front end of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV is dominated by a long lighting bar set with the Hummer logo, which is backlit in six individual lighting squares. Lower in the fascia, we find a pair of black towing hooks and two fog lamps, plus a prominent silver plate running to the underside of the front end.

Viewed from the side, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV rides on a set of technical-looking alloy wheels, which add to the off-roader spec thanks to 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler rubber housed underneath prominent black fender flares. The new Hummer also comes with a variable ride height with adjustable suspension components, not to mention tech goodies like four-wheel steering via CrabWalk mode.

The rear end proudly displays the Hummer EV logo on the tailgate, which can also fold down into six different configurations thanks to the GMC MultiPro design. Additional tow hooks were added to the bumper, while the bed liner gets “H EV” etched into it.

Making this monster move is the range-topping three-motor powertrain, good for 350 miles between plugs and 1,000 horsepower. The sprint to 60 seconds takes a mere three seconds, while an additional 100 miles of range is possible thanks to DC quick-charge compatibility.

As VIN 001, this particular GMC Hummer EV is expected to fetch more than the advertised $112,595 MSRP. Either way, the first units of the new 2022 GMC Hummer are expected to begin arriving in the Fall.
