We Render The Upcoming Hummer EV SUV Variant

And we quite like how it looks.

When the Hummer EV pickup was teased back in July, GM included a silhouette of the next body style in the pipeline – the Hummer EV SUV. The HummerNation.com staff was not satiated by this mysterious teaser that showed almost no detail, so we decided to render our own.

Keeping the the overall and general proportions the same as the pickup, we started with the area aft of the C-pillar by giving it a unique treatment comprised of a tinted glass cover. Meanwhile, the newfound D-pillar features a piano black finish. The combination of the glass-dominant cargo area space and black pillars results in a “floating roof” motif, which is very much appropriate since it’s possible that the panels over the cargo area will be removable, very much like the Infinity View roof.

We also turned the pickup’s tailgate into a liftgate, like that found on various modern SUVs – much like what’s found on the GMC Yukon. The newfound liftgate will allow either the entire rear door to be lifted, or just the upper glass panel.

While the Hummer EV SUV in the original teaser image wears its spare on the liftgate, we decided to omit it from our render for a cleaner look. Following that same clean aesthetic is our hidden rear wiper in the same fashion as the 2015-2020 and 2021+ GMC Yukon.

The teaser image also featured some larger, shinier rims and thinner tires, but our version wears a set of unique wheels with bronze accents and meaty all-terrain tires right off the Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup.

GMC’s teaser of the upcoming Hummer EV SUV

We expect the Hummer EV SUV to be revealed about a year from today, and go on sale roughly 12 months after the first units of the Hummer EV pickup begin arriving at dealer showrooms. As a reminder, the Hummer EV pickup is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2021 as a 2022 model year vehicle with a starting price of $112,595 for the range-topping Edition 1 trim. Other trims with lesser powertrain configurations will launch thereafter.

We expect the Hummer EV SUV to be powered by the same Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motors as its pickup stable mate, while also featuring the same off-road capabilities and general features.

We’ll have a lot more information about all things Hummer soon, so stay glued to HummerNation.com to make sure you don’t miss a beat. We also invite you to join our Hummer Forum where you can share questions, thoughts, and advice with Hummer fans the world over.
