Hummer fans and enthusiasts might be content to note that the Hummer.com domain name is back in action.

Going to Hummer.com now automatically redirects visitors to the Hummer EV section of GMC.com, which will serve as a “parent” brand for a reborn line of electric Hummer models. It’s unclear when the redirect went into effect, but we have reason to believe that it’s a recent development.

When we last visited Hummer.com roughly six months ago, it showed us the typical Owner Assistance splash page that was published after GM mothballed the brand in the midst of its bankruptcy proceedings at the turn of the last decade. Forwarding of the Hummer.com domain to its new home within GMC is proof positive of what we’ve been preaching all along: Hummer is back!

The 2022 Hummer EV pickup was revealed on October 20^th, 2020, with $100 reservations for the vehicle becoming available the same day. Reservations for the launch model, called Edition 1, sold out within hours. Roughly two months after launch, it was reported that 10,000 reservations were made for the Hummer EV Edition 1.

The supertruck will be available in four trim levels, with the U.S.-only Edition 1 being the only model available for the first year of the vehicle’s availability. Priced to start at $112,595, Edition 1 is packed to the brim with nearly every feature and option available for the Hummer EV pickup, as standard.

Shortly after launch, the the Hummer EV pickup will be joined by an SUV variant. The Hummer EV SUV will debut in February 2021, likely during Super Bowl LV currently scheduled to take place on February 7^th, 2021. Expected to hit the market roughly 12 months after its pickup brother, the SUV variant should be offered with identical vehicle features and electric powertrain options.
